Rumor: González as Macedonian coach

Raúl González is allegedly favorite to replacing Lino Červar as Macedonian national coach.
According to informations from Sportmedia.mk the head coach of the Macedonian champions RK Vardar, Raúl González, in the coming days holds a meeting with people from the Macedonian Handball Federation.
Raúl González is allegedly the most serious candidate to replace Lino Červar, who is the new-old national coach of Croatia (read more here), as Macedonian national coach.
Taking over the Macedonian national team should according to informations of Sportmedia.mk not be a problem, but must be approved by the Russian owner of the RK Vardar, Sergei Samsonenko.
If everything goes as it should, Raúl González at the end of this week should be presented as the new national coach of Macedonia.
The 47-year-old Spanish coach began his coaching career as assistant coach of Talant Dujshebaev in Ciudad Real and Atlético Madrid from 2005 to 2013. In 2014 he joined the Macedonian top club RK Vardar.
Raúl González extended in the summer of 2016 his contract with RK Vardar to the summer of 2018 (read more here).
