The promosing Icelandic right wing, Theodór Sigurbjörnsson, has extended his contract with the Icelandic top club IBV Handbolti with 2 years to the summer of 2019.

The 24-year-old Icelandic right wing, Theodór Sigurbjörnsson, who is the top scorer of the Icelandic Olís League, has decided to continue playing in his current Icelandic club IBV Handbolti.

The right wing had a contract that expired at the end of the season and had according to the Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið the opportunity to go abroad, but has instead signed a new 2-year contract to the summer of 2019.

Sigurbjörnsson has scored 222 goals in 25 league games this season. He is the only player with more than 200 goals in the regular season of the Icelandic League so far.

Theodór Sigurbjörnsson was previously an integral part of the Icelandic youth national team.

IBV Handbolti is at the moment placed 2nd in the Icelandic League and has secured a spot in the playoffs.
