According to the Danish newspaper Midtjyllands Avis is the French champions Paris Saint Germain interested in the Danish left back of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, Nikolaj Markussen.

According to Midtjyllands Avis, the French top club Paris Saint-Germain is interested in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg's Nikolaj Markussen.

"I assume that I have two years left of my BSV contract ... It is one of Europe's biggest clubs, so it's always worth listening to if you get an offer. And if it's true that there is an offer, it may mean I'm doing something right," he states to MJA.dk.

Jesper Schou, director of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, does not want to confirm the rumors to Midtjyllands Avis. He points out, however, that many foreign clubs sometimes show interest in BSV players.

The 29-year-old former Danish national player Nikolaj Markussen has besides Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, also played in Team Helsinge, Nordsjælland Håndbold and Skjern Håndbold in Denmark, BM Atletico Madrid in Spain and El Jaish in Qatar. The 211 centimeters tall back came to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg from Skjern Håndbold in 2015.

He has played 53 caps and scored 120 goals for the Danish national team, with whom he won the European Championship in Serbia in 2012.

Paris Saint-Germain gets a new head coach, Raul Gonzalez, next season (read more here). Raul Gonzalez was the assistant coach of Talant Dujshebaev in BM Atletico Madrid, when Nikolaj Markussen played in the Spanish top club from 2011 to 2013.
