The newcomers of the Danish league, Randers HH, has sacked their head coach Jesper Holm after only 8 matches.

After one victory and seven defeats in the first 8 matches of the first season in the best league in Denmark of Randers HH, has the management of the club decided to sack the new head coach of the club, Danish Jesper Holm.

Press release from Randers HH:

"The league club, Randers HH, has chosen to terminate the cooperation with Jesper Holm.

After a difficult start in the 888ligaen has the Board unanimously decided to stop the cooperation with the club's coach, Jesper Holm.

"There is no doubt that Jesper is an accomplished coach, but after seven defeats in eight matches, we felt that it was time to try something else," says Flemming Olsen, chairman of Randers HH.

"We have been delighted to have Jesper at the club, so it has been a difficult decision, and we wish Jesper all the best of luck in his future activity," continues Flemming Olsen.

The chairman explains that the Board in cooperation with the sporting director, Peter Hansen, is exploring the terrain to find the right man to take over the head coach post in the longer term.

"So far, the responsibility is in the hands of Martin Hjortshøj, who previously served as the assistant coach," says Flemming Olsen.

Young coach with strong CV

Martin Hjortshøj has despite his young age a strong coaching CV and has already trained at the division level. He is originally from HEI, where he, after a series of successful years as coach of the club's elite youth teams, was given responsibility for the club's men's team in the second division, which he has led the way to the top of the range.

Martin is also JHF and DHF instructor and has for several years been the district coach in JHF, and he has served as assistant coach of the Danish national team in Beach Handball."
