The Swedish captain of the German Bundesliga club Dalibor Doder has extended his contract.

Good news for all fans of GWD Minden: The 38-year-old experienced Swedish playmaker Dalibor Doder has extended his contract, which ran until the end of the season, by one year until the summer of 2019.

"I am proud and happy that I can play for another year with GWD Minden in the Bundesliga," said the captain of the traditional club in a press release. The 38-year-old former Swedish national player, who has been in Minden since 2010, has broken the 400-goal mark in the Bundesliga this season, making him one of the club's most successful players.

Mindens Sporting Director Frank von Behren: "Over the years, Dalibor has become an identification figure in Minden. As a top performer and leader, he continues to play an important role in the team. Therefore, he has earned our confidence for another season."

The experienced Swede has had a long career in several European top clubs. He started his senior career in the Swedish club LUGI HF before joining the league rivals in 2003. In 2005 he moved abroad to the Spanish Liga Asobal club SD Teucro. In 2005 he moved to BM Aragon. When the club got financial problems in 2009 he moved to the Spanish league rivals Ademar Leon. After one season he joined his current club, GWD Minden.

Doder has played 146 caps and scored 430 goals for the Swedish national team, with whom he won silver at the Olympics 2012 in London. At the World Championship 2011 in Sweden he was named the best playmaker of the Championship.
