The 38-year-old experienced Swedish goalkeeper, Mattias Andersson, has extended his contract with SG Flensburg-Handewitt with one year to the summer of 2018.

What a day in North Germany! Home victory in the German Bundesliga against Füchse Berlin, the signing of the Swedish shooting star Simon Jeppsson and an one-year extension of the contract with the Swedish world class goalkeeper Mattias Andersson.

SG Managing Director Dierk Schmäschke: "We have already made numerous personnel decisions before the end of the year. I am very happy about that. I am delighted that Mattias Andersson will be able to guard the SG for another year. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has shown in recent years how important he is for our team. "

SG head coach Ljubomir Vranjes: "Mattias shows world class performances in the court with an unbelievable consistency and has been doing so for years. This makes him one of the best goalkeepers in the world. I am delighted that he will help us continue another year with his great experience and ambition. "

Mattias Andersson: "I have been thinking about this extension for a long time and has been talking intensively with my family about this important decision for all of us. We feel very comfortable here and I enjoy playing with our team. I'm sure I can play for another year at this level. I'm looking forward to many more home games in the FLENS-ARENA."
