The Austrian League club SG Handball Westwien has signed the 28-year-old Icelandic playmaker Olafur Bjarki Ragnarsson.

The 28-year-old Icelandic playmaker Olafur Bjarki Ragnarsson comes from the German 2. Bundesliga club ThSV Eisenach and has signed a 2-year contract from next season to the summer of 2019.

Olafur Bjarki Ragnarsson: "I am very happy to be able to play for Westwien next year. The whole environment impressed me very much and the decision was very easy for me. I have already spoken a lot with Hannes Jonsson and with my experience from Germany I want to help the young team to place themselves among the top three and in the end also to attack the championship title."

He replaces the Chilean national player Erwin Feucthmann, who together with Westwien have agreed to go separate ways after the season. The Manager of Westwien Konrad Wilczynski: "Erwin has an outstanding attitude to sport and I am sure that he will give everything for Westwien until the last game. I know he has some inquiries from abroad and I am convinced that he will find a very good club. "
