Portugal find experienced national coach

The Portuguese Handball Federation have signed the Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Pereira to replace Rolando Freitas as head coach of the Portuguese national team.

After the Portuguese national teams unsuccessfully qualification to the World Cup 2017 in France, where they lost narrowly to Iceland, the contract with the Portuguese national coach Rolando Freitas was not extended. 

Instead the Portuguise Handball Federation have found an agreement with the experienced Portuguise coach Paulo Jorge Pereira.

The 51-year-old coach Paulo Jorge Pereira has completed the EHF Master Coach education. He has coached the following clubs:

2003-2006: FC Porto, Portugal
2006-2008: CB Cangas, Spain
2008-2011: The women's national team of Angola
2011-2013: The women's team of Desportivo 1º de Agosto, Angola
2013-2016: The women's national team of Tunisia
2016: Espérance Sportive de Tunis, Tunisia
