Brazil seeks new coach

The Brazilian national team seeks a new head coach.

According to the Brazilian website Globo Esporte the Brazilian Handball Federation seeks a new head coach to replace the current Brazilian national coach, Washington Nunes.

Washington Nunes replaced Jordi Ribera as head coach of Brazil after the Olympics at homeground in Rio in the summer of 2016. Washington Nunes has previously, from 2008 to 2009, been the head coach of the Brazilian national team.

According to the Brazilian website Globo Esporte the Spanish head coach of the Danish club KIF Kolding-København, Antonio Carlos Ortega, the Swedish head coach of the German Bundesliga club, Magnus Andersson, The Spanish head coach of the Macedonian club RK Vardar, Raúl González, the Spanish free agent head coach Manolo Cadenas and the Spanish head coach of the Spanish club Naturhouse La Rioja, Jota González, are all possible replacements for Washington Nunes as Brazilian national head coach.

"We have several candidates for the position. Washington Nunes was hired for the World Championship. We understand that we still need a bit more international experience in Brazilian handball," explains President of the Brazilian Handball Federation, Manoel Luiz Oliveira, to globoesporte.globo.com.
