UPDATE:

According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo the arrival of Aron Palmarsson at the Palau is imminent, but the great Icelandic playmaker is not yet available to the head coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Pascual, who according to the Spanish newspaper will have him the next four seasons, until the summer of 2021.

The agreement between FC Barcelona and Telekom Veszprem are allegedly agreed, but the work in the offices continues because there is still some details of the transfer, which have to be polished.

FC Barcelona is expected to publish the signing this week.

According to the international handball-site Handball-Planet.com Aron Palmarsson is already staying in Barcelona, where he allegedly starts training with his new team from Monday.

The saga of Aron Palmarsson continues. According to the international handball-site Handball-Planet.com Aron Palmarsson is already staying in Barcelona, where he allegedly starts training with his new team FC Barcelona at the beginning of next week, when the team returns from this weekends Champions League match in Skopje against Vardar.

This indicates that the current owners of the Icelandic super star, Telekom Veszprém, and his future club, FC Barcelona, have agreed on a transfer fee. Last week the Montenegrin handball site Handballme.me reported, that FC Barcelona pays 700.000 euros for the Icelandic national player (read more here). According to Handball-Planet.com the price is 1 million euros. If true it will make the Icelandic playmaker the 3th most expensive player in the history (See the top 10 transfers of all time here).

At first the plan was, that the Icelandic playmaker should join FC Barcelona, when his contract with Telekom Veszprém expired after this season, but Aron Palmarsson did not meet up to the first training of the season with the Hungarian club, which allowed the new head coach of Telekom Veszpreém, Ljubomir Vranjes, to ignore him.

Later, the promising Danish playmaker, Lasse Andersson, suffered a setback of his injury of his left knee (read more here), which left the Spanish champions FC Barcelona with only one playmaker for the rest of the season, Raul Entrerrios. Another reason for buying Aron Palmarsson one year early.

The templates are closed for the first five days of Champions, but teams can also register new players: if they do before 31 October, the player can play from the 6th round, but if they do later, dated limit on 1 February, they would have to wait for the K.O.-phase.

According to the Montenegrin handball site Handballme.me Telekom Veszprém will immediately use a good deal of the transfer fee from the Catalans - Ljubomir Vranjes is interested to sign Petar Nenadić from Füchse Berlin as a replacement already in January, and his freedom is also not cheap - about 400,000 euros, since the Serbian national player has a contract with the foxes which expires in the summer of 2018 (read more here).
