Omeyer and Narcisse retire

Thierry Omeyer and Daniel Narcisse have announced their retirement from the French national team.

The World Championship title on home ground was the end of the international careers of Thierry Omeyer and Daniel Narcisse, who has announced their withdrawals from the French national team after the two European Qualifiers for Le Bleus in May.

The two former THW Kiel- and current Paris Saint-Germain-players debuted respectively in 1999 (Omeyer) and in 2000 (Daniel Narcisse). Both have a large share in many French triumphs.

The 37-year-old left back Daniel Narcisse has played 309 caps and scored 912 goals. The 40-year-old goalkeeper Thierry Omeyer has played 356 caps. They have won the World Championship four times (2001, 2009, 2015 and 2017), the European Championship 3 times (2006, 2010, 2014) and the Olympics twice (2008, 2012) together. Furthermore, Thierry Omeyer also won the World Championship in 2011, where Daniel Narcisse was absent.
