Veszprem presents 7 new faces!

On a press conference today Telekom Veszprém presented 7 new faces for the coming seasons.

Tønnesen, Accambray, Manaskov and Győri joins this year, while Mahé and Strlek next year.

As we have already revealed Ljubomir Vranjes will be the headcoach of Telekom Veszprém from the 1st of July 2017. As also mentioned Kentin Mahé follows the Swedish coach from Flensburg to the Hungarian record champion one year later.

Gábor Kálomista, CEO of Veszprém Handball Team Zrt., reveals further signings in a form of an official press conference.

Kent Robin Tønnesen, the right back of the Norwegian National Team, signs with Veszprém from the 1st of July 2017 to the 30th of June 2020.
The left handed player was born on the 5th of June 1991, has a height of 194 cm and a weight of 90 kg. The Norwegian comes from Füchse Berlin.
He started his career in his country with Fjellhammer IL, then Haslum HK. In 2012 he signed for the Swedish IK Savehof and a year later to the German HSG Wetzlar. He has been playing in the German capital since 2015.
His biggest success has most definitely happened this January. He was a runner-up in the World Championships with the Norwegian National Team – in which he plays since 2010. He scored 23 goals in the tournament in France.

William Accambray, the left back of the French National Team, continues his career in Veszprém from the 1st of July 2017 to 30th of June 2020.
Our new acquisition was born on the 8th of April 1988 and has a height of 194 cm and a weight of 104 kg. The first ever French player in the history of our club comes from Paris Saint-Germain Handball. Previously he played for Montpellier between 2005 and 2014. He won 8 national championships and 7 cups with his teams so far.
His biggest successes happened with the French National Team. He won Olympic gold in 2012, World Championships twice (2011, 2015, 2017) and European Championships in 2014.

Our club made a deal with Dejan Manaskov which states that the left wing will play in Veszprém from the 1st of July 2017 to the 30th of June 2018.
The Macedonian player was born in Créteil, France on the 26th of August 1992. His height in 182 cm and his weight is 87 kg.
He spent his younger years in the Macedonian RK Borac from where he signed to Metalurg Skopje. He played in the capital between 2008 and 2014 and won the Macedonian Championship 4 times and the Macedonian Cup 4 times. After that for a brief period of time he played for HSG Wetzlar then Vardar Skopje where he won the Macedonian Championship and Cup again. He signed with Rhein-Neckar Löwen in the summer of 2016.
He is the member of the Macedonian National Team since 2012. His biggest success is a 5th place in the European Championships.

The talented young Hungarian playmaker, Mátyás Győri signed with Telekom Veszprém from the 1st of July 2017 to the 30th of June 2021.
The member of the Hungarian National Team was born on the 2nd of February in Debrecen. His height is 193cm and his weight is 84 kg.
He was only 16 years old when he made a debut in the Hungarian First Division in the season 2013/14 in Balatonfüred, where he plays til this very day. In his first season he scored 6 goals against Veszprém which has been the most memorable game of his year. The young talent has grown to be one of the most important player of his team and he could have been preparing for this year's World Championships with the Hungarian National Team but unfortunately because of an illness he was not able to start the preparations in time with the team.
According to the general opinion he is one of the biggest talents in the Hungarian men's handball.

A deal has been made between Telekom Veszprém and Manuel Strlek which states that the left wing will play in Veszprém from the 1st of July 2018 to the 30th of June 2021.
The croatian player was born on the 1st of December 1988. His height is 181 cm and his weight is 79 kg.
His career kicked off in Zagreb where he made his debut in the first team in the season 2006-2007. He became a 6 times Croatian Champion and 6 times Croatian Cup winner with his hometown. He signed with Vive Tauron Kielce in 2012 where his contract will expire in 2018. He won the Polish League and Polish Cup 4 times with the Polish team and they even won the VELUX EHF Champions League in 2016.
He debuted in the Croatian National Team in 2010 and in that year he won a silver medal in the European Championships in Austria. Besides that he has an Olympic bronze, a World Championships bronze and 2 European Championships bronze. He was voted Player of the Year in 2016 in Croatia.
