The former Serbian national player, Ivan Nikčević, moves from Wisła Płock to Sporting Clube de Portugal.

The Portuguese top club Sporting Clube de Portugal continues to rearm their squad. Previously they signed Carlos Ruesga, Janko Bozovic, Michal Kopco, Igor Zabic and Matej Asanin for the upcomming season. Now also the serbian left wing Ivan Nikčević comes to Portugal.

The Serbian left wing, who last season played for the Polish runner-up Wisla Plock, has signed a 1-year contract with Portuguese Challenge Cup-participants to the summer of 2017. He replaces the Brazilian national player Felipe Borges, who got his contract terminated due to a shoulder injury.

The Serb is happy for the next step in his career:

"I am happy to be a part of this club and to be a part of the big family of Sporting CP. I am proud. For me it is an honour to play in Pavilhão João Rocha (The arena of Sporting CP, red.), where we want to win many trophies," he stated on the website of Sporting CP.

35-year-old Ivan Nikčević has played 135 caps and scored 491 goals for Serbia, with whom he won a silver medal at home at the European Championship 2012.

The fast left wing has played for the following clubs:
