Ales Pajovic replaces Patrekur Johannesson as Austrian national coach.

The 40-year-old Slovenian head coach of the Austrian league club RETCOFF HSG Graz, Ales Pajovic, becomes Austrian national coach with immediate effect. He replaces the Icelandic coach Patrekur Johannesson.

Ales Pajovic, who is a former Slovenian national player with among others 3 Champions League titles on his CV, continues as head coach of the Austrian league club RETCOFF HSG Graz for the rest of the season, before becoming a full time head coach of Austria from this summer.

Ales Pajovic, who as a player played in European top clubs as RK Celje, BM Ciudad Real, THW Kiel and SC Magdeburg, has signed a 2-year contract to the summer of 2021, which means he is in charge of the Austrian national team at the Euros 2020 on home ground in Sweden, Norway and Austria.

Pajovic finished his career as a player and head coach in his current club RETCOFF HSG Graz, which he has been a part of since the summer of 2015.
