The press release from Telekom Veszprém

David Davis will be the head coach of Telekom Veszprém in the next season too
The Spanish coach will stay another year at the bench of the Hungarian record champion.

It has become official today, that the plus one year in David Davis’ contract will be activated, meaning that the Spanish coach will lead the team in the next 2019/20 season.

As it is known, David Davis took over Telekom Veszprem in October of 2018 and has signed a 1+1-year contract with our Club. Under his lead, the „Építők” got back on the winning track and has not been defeated for 16 consecutive games.

Dr. Zoltán Csík, the Managing Director of Veszprém Handball Team Co. Ltd. said „The board is fully satisfied with the work of Coach David Davis, which is proven with 16 consecutive victories, especially after the difficult situation of the team in the beginning of the season. Today’s decision signals a trust towards the coach and the team, strengthening everyone in the idea that we are on a good way and everyone works well towards our goals. The strength of the team is visible and sensible. This is why in our last game, in Skopje and at home against Brest, they could stand up from behind and win.”

David Davis told us that „My last two days were spent very happily. I am grateful for the Club, the Management, the Players and of course the Supporters. It was important for me to do a great job with the team. I am happy, but for one man it is impossible to achieve great things and in these last three months, everyone helped. I could not be happier in Magyarország (Hungary).”
