After seven defeats in a row and a last place of the 2. Bundesliga HC Empor Rostock now has announced consequences. Head coach Robert Teichert has been sacked and Sven Thormann and Hans-Georg Jaunich are his successors.

Press release from HC Empor Rostock:

"This decision was not taken by me, but large parts of the Supervisory Board and the entire Management Board were involved. ,Schorsch' Jaunich has the necessary experience that we need now," informed club boss Jens Gienapp. "We're looking at first how it's going to end this season."

The fact that Thormann, although also a managing director of Empor Handball GmbH, would be a good factor in the future plans, had already been taken from the NNN on Tuesday when he said that he "had a trainer license, but not the on for HBL. And even if, then at least not as a permanent solution, maximally interim."

Hans-Georg Jaunich, yesterday at the training session in Marienehe, is now a silent observer. "I've actually experienced it before," said the 65-year-old. The native Schwaaner is a primal rock of the club. After his teaching at the Sportschule Schwerin, the Olympian winner of 1980 returned to Empor at the beginning of the season, took over the CI youth, which he will continue to look after. "It was a bit sudden for him now," says Thormann. "He is a respected person, a quiet pole, which can also make clear announcements, has the look for the essentials. With his experience he will help us," the 34-year-old is sure.

"We both care about the team, there is no Co and no first coach," Sven Thormann continued. "Miracles are not to be expected in the shortness of course. We try our best. It is important to communicate with the players that they internalize and implement the tactical requirements. And we are working on our weaknesses in defense. I hope the team is aware of their responsibilities."
