Officially: Jesper Nielsen leaves PSG

The Swedish national player Jesper Nielsen leaves the French champion PSG to return to Germany.

The Swedish delegation at the German champion Rhein-Neckar Löwen will receive further growth in the coming season. After two years in France, the Swedish pivot Jesper Nielsen from the French top club Paris St. Germain returns to the Bundesliga. The 28-year-old pivot has signed a three-year contract with the Lions from Mannheim until the summer of 2021. From 2013 to 2016 Nielsen played in the Bundesliga for Füchse Berlin, with whom he won the 2014 DHB Cup and the EHF Cup. Nielsen is after the two German national players Steffen Fäth and Jannik Kohlbacher the third new signing for the upcoming season at the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, which will not extend the expiring contract with the Spanish pivot Rafael Baena, however.

"It's a great feeling that I'm allowed to play in the Bundesliga again from next season. The Rhein-Neckar Löwen are not only the best team in the strongest league in the world, but also belong to the absolute top clubs in Europe. The club has developed impressively in recent years and has high goals for the future. I would like to do my part to play along for the next few years," Jesper Nielsen comments in a press release from Rhein-Neckar Löwen.

Rhein-Neckar Löwen gets a completely new pivot-constellation from the next season when Jannik Kohlbacher and Jesper Nielsen joins- and Hendrik Pekeler (to THW Kiel - read more here) and Rafael Baena (destination unknown) leaves the club.
