The 30-year-old goalkeeper of the Bundesliga club HC Erlangen, Mario Huhnstock, has signed a contract with the top club of the 3. Bundesliga Ost, HC Elbflorenz.
The experienced German goalkeeper Mario Huhnstock leaves the German Bundesliga club HC Erlangen in favor of the German 3. Bundesliga Ost club HC Elbflorenz after this season on a 2-year contract to the summer of 2019.
"I am very happy that the change to HC Elbflorenz has been successful. I think it is one of the most interesting handball projects in Germany and I am looking forward to being a part of it after this season," the goalkeeper states in a press release.
Mario Huhnstock started his career in SC Concordia Staßfurt and has ever since played in German clubs as HC Einheit Halle, 1. SV Concordia Delitzsch and Bergischer HC. In 2015 he joined HC Erlangen, with whom he promoted from the 2. Bundesliga to the 1. Bundesliga.
Mario Huhnstock was previously an integral part of the German youth national team, with whom he won the World Championship in 2007.
HC Elbflorenz is at the moment placed 2nd in the 3. Bundesliga Ost.
